    About Jesse

Jesse is 84 years old and has lived and worked in Chicago all of his life. He is one of 13 children, and is the last surviving son in his family.

Jesse and all of his brothers served honorably for our country. Jesse is proud to have served in the U.S. army during the Korean War.

After his service, Jesse worked at Wisconsin Steel for 29 years. Unfortunately, he was laid off just one year before receiving his pension. He then went to work at Campbell Soup Company until he retired.

Jesse coached boxing on the side, and even trained one of the south side of Chicago’s only Golden Gloves Champs! Wanting to continue his education and set an example for his family, Jesse completed his GED at age 50.  He is a determined, strong spirit.

He has always been a dedicated, lifelong Bear Fan, but has never been to a Bears Game. We felt he deserved to have his dream come true

Jesse's Dream Come True at the Chicago Bears Game

Jesse’s Dream came true on January 3rd, 2016, when the Chicago Bears played the Detroit Lions. Jesse, his sons John and Jesse, and his grandson Roman arrived at the stadium around 10:00am for the game. The Bears staff met Jesse with a wheelchair at the gate and led the way down to the field.

Staley Da Bear even stopped by to say hi!

Staley also knighted Jesse…or at least we hope that’s what he’s doing here!

Although the Bears didn’t win, it was a close, exciting game, and Jesse had a blast cheering for the team.

Jesse called the experience, “The best day of his life.”
